Wargame Sim for complex high-fidelity military training
“Wargame Sim” is an advanced GIS-based Live-Virtual-Constructive simulation for complex, real-time decision-making scenarios for high-fidelity military training.
Built on a powerful Unity architecture, it provides a realistic environment for commanders. Its standout feature is the deep integration with GIS, offering detailed and customised scaled maps complete with satellite imagery and Digital Surface Modelling.
The system supports flexible Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) modes, enabling complex, real-time decision-making scenarios. This multiplayer platform scales from battalion-level exercises down to buddy pairs with a focus on CI (Counter Insurgency) / CT (Counter Terrorism) based scenario traning.
Security is paramount, with the system being fully cyber-vetted and compliant with Defence Data Network standards.
Despite its complexity, it remains exceptionally user-friendly, featuring embedded wizards and tutorials to assist junior commanders with no prior computer experience, ensuring rapid adoption and effective training.
Core Features:
- Live-Virtual-Constructive Modes: LVC, LC, VC, and Constructive-only modes.
- GIS Integration: 1:5,000 scale maps with support for 1:50,000 & 1:250,000, incorporating satellite imagery and Digital Surface Modeling.
- Real-Time Decision Making: Scenarios generated online to train commanders at various levels.
- Multiplayer Functionality: Supports battalion to buddy pair levels with network scalability
- Multi-Orbat capability: Supports independent Blue, Red (Terrorist) and Green (Civilian) ORBATs.
- Security: Cyber-vetted and compliant with Defence Data Network standards.
- User-Friendly Interface: Simplified for junior commanders with no prior computer experience.
- Training-Oriented: Embedded wizards, tutorials, and context-sensitive help.
On the actual operational Counter Terrorism Grid, the Battalion Commanders would be trained in planning and execution and the sub-unit commanders in undertaking various operations based on ‘painted’ situations.
Contours of the Wargame
A typical wargame would progress in the following manner:
(a) Initial deployment of battalion and establishment of Company Operating Bases (COB) grid.
(b) If necessitated due to wargaming requirements, modification to existing operational, intelligence and terrain data base will be carried out.
(c) Initiation receipt of intelligence/information at battalion/company/platoon level. Thereafter report, plan for, move to, execute and disengage from the operations.
(d) After Action Review.
By creating dynamic battle complexities through simulated situations generated on-line, the software would assist in training the battalion/company/ platoon commanders in decision making during CT Ops situations. In summary, this is an ideal solution for training Officers on Tactics, Technology and processes in CI (Counter Insurgency) / CT (Counter Terrorism) operations.
